What is the average cost of living in Santa Fe?


From Santa Fe: It is about a 10 minute drive from what is called Southside: one of the newer areas that has quite a bit of new housing. There is a housing development right next to the school called San Marcos, with large plots of land. In both directions there are neighborhoods about 5 - 10 minutes drive away. North is a traditional housing area, south is larger plots with small farms and ranches. Going a bit further north, Rancho Viejo can be 20 minutes although it is close, it has roads with strict speed limits and speed bumps. The Airport is northwest of the school and the surrounding area called: La Cienega” is about 10 - 15 minutes away. From downtown, it is about 20 - 30 minutes if you take our beltline road: the 599 From Eldorado, it can be closer to 30 minutes depending on highway traffic, taking I25. From Cerrillos, Madrid, Cochiti or Pena Blanca, it is about 30 minutes driving.

From further away: Rio Rancho or Bernalillo, just north of Albuquerque is about 45 minutes away, whereas Albuquerque can be over an hour depending on distance and traffic. Tesuque, is 30 minutes using the highway and the 599, Pojoaque 10 minutes more as you would travel past Tesuque. Espanola can 45 minutes to an hour, again depending on location in the town.

What is the salary range for teachers?

Educator salaries at TTCS begin with the salary ranges mandated by the State of New Mexico and are adjusted upward for a variety of reasons, and stipends are awarded for special qualifications or duties.


What kind of involvement is expected of teachers?

Teachers at TTCS are leaders first, pedagogues second. A variety of leadership opportunities beyond the classroom are available to teachers as they are ready for them. In addition, all teachers work with coaches to improve the level of instruction and to help find their fullest expression of themselves in their craft.


What is the culture at your school?

TTCS is a high achieving school that believes that although academic success does not define life success for everybody, a strong academic foundation is essential to all walks of life.


Yes! TTCS is currently participating in the extended school year program (ELTP). Part of this program is having extra curricular enrichment programs. Teachers can run a program of their choosing once a week after school for an hour for some extra income. We also offer tutoring after school and sports for which a teacher can earn extra income.

Are there extracurricular activities that could supply extra income for teachers?


Yes, all staff at TTCS is encouraged to further their education and training in any way they can. The school has a significant growth plan which will allow for anyone to move up to any position they can dream of. Teachers can become principals, case managers SPED supervisors and administrative assistants can become operations managers.

Are there opportunities for growth?


TTCS is an affiliate of NMPTA, The TTCS PTA holds several events throughout the school year to build the community and raise funds for teachers to use for their classrooms. They also insist on a week long teacher appreciation which involves breakfasts, lunches, treats and gifts for the teachers.

How active is the PTA?


Aftercare is free to staff while they are in the building/working. Aftercare program for is for students ages 5 and up.
